CSE, (Cheshire Specialist Engineering) established in the 1970’s as part of the L&M group, has been providing the science sector with sheet metal fabrications and assemblies for over 30 years. Based in Stockport in a 15000 sq ft unit and close to the M6 CSE is ideally situated to deliver around the UK.
Sheet Metal Fabrication
CSE can produce high quality sheet metal and hollow section frame works and enclosures, using mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel. Mig and tig welding of mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel. Utilized in 6 welding bays, folding of up to 3 metres in length using the latest AMADA press breaks with off line programming. scientific and electronic sectors where, like mass spectrometry, the ability to produce, high complexity, low to medium volume, precision engineered products to customer requirements in critical.

Director
My career began as an apprentice sheet metal worker, followed by seven years’ experience on the shop floor as a skilled sheet metal worker. I was subsequently identified by management as’ having potential’ and asked to undertake CAD program training. This led me into management and ultimately becoming a Director.
In my search for knowledge and self-improvement I went on to take an Open University Honours Degree in Technology, whilst still working full time.
Outside of work, I have a number of interests which include walking, playing golf, watching football and spending time with my wife and two children. I have walked the Pennine Way and Offa’s Dyke and I have plans to walk many more long distance footpaths.

Director
I have been involved in engineering since 1994, working for a small engineering company producing medium to high batch products. Working through different skills on the factory floor gaining experience and knowledge, after a time rising to the position of foreman. During this time, I learnt all aspects of sheet metal engineering from computer-aided design (CAD) and CNC punching to managing people and processes.
I joined CSE as an assistant production manager, where Richard and I quickly became an excellent team, undertaking training in business management, health and safety and lean manufacturing to help to move the business forward.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family and taking part in various sports activities.

I began working for CSE back in 2012 after a number of years spent in the retail/service sector. I quickly settled into the office environment and the gained knowledge of the engineering sector. Over the years I added to this knowledge with an understanding of the engineering practices and processes, as well as understanding the different sectors we supply into. I am involved in multiple aspects of the business and so have a wide knowledge of the business and enjoy the challenge this provides.
Outside of work, I like to keep fit and look after my family. With the odd trip to the pub!
